MassAccess

Massachusetts Accessible Housing Registry (Mass Access) is a free program that matches people with disabilities with accessible housing. It catalogs the location of housing by city or town, rent level, number of bedrooms, and other particular adaptable or accessible features. It also tracks availability and vacancies to assist those with disabilities in finding accessible housing. 

Any person who has a disability, family member, or advocate can obtain housing information, regardless of age, income or type of disability is eligible to use MassAccess. Click here to learn more and to be connected with the registry. 

Boston Housing Authority

Boston Housing Authority (BHA) is a public housing program aimed towards creating and linking those with disabilities with housing to suit their needs. It has created more than 300 new wheelchair accessible apartments in its public housing developments throughout the city, all of which are equipped with a roll-under stove and sink and wheelchair accessible bathrooms. 

There is typically a waiting list for these units, but when there is availability, detailed information about unit size and location will be posted on this page and interested renters are encouraged to fill out an application

Service & Emotional Assistance Animals

People with disabilities have the right to be accompanied by a service animal wherever the person is allowed to go. In housing, those with disabilities have a right to reasonable accommodations, including the right to keep an assistance animal.
